JERSAY (2022)

Cast : Pankaj Kapur, Shahid Kapoor (Well that’s the cast , I remember. As Very bad casting – Chk our below in review)

Directed by : Gautam Tinnanuri

Banner – YRF Films Release

Verdict : Priyanka Raina

Well , Inshort JERSAY is a story of ARJUN TALWAR (Shahid Kapoor) who is young cricketer of around 25 years and is hard hitting batsman at all Ranji Trophies. He has one Medical emergency so he decides to leave cricket on Doctor s advice , which he doesn’t tells anyone , not even his Coach (Pankaj Kapur) who all the time pushes him to play.

Story shifts After TEN YEARS, now Arjun is married with a son and wife and no job at all. Twist comes when his son asks to gift a ‘JERSAY’ on his birthday and he doesn’t has money to buy , So Arjun decides to play Cricket.

Then he gets selected for RANJY TROPHY and here one magic – All batsman gets our at ZERO and only ARJUN is Hitting Sixes. Cricket was never ever shown in such a One man game. Then shown a book written by a Author on ARJUN TALWAR where they present JERSAY to his son at Book launch function in end.

I mean there are other Cricket movies like “Lagaan’ which is brilliantly executed. When you are making movies on CRICKET, it can’t be a one man show, isn’t it?

Casting : First of all, casting Director Mukesh Chabra should know the requirements, that JERSAY is being shot in Chandigarh and has totally punjabi ascent. He can’t cast their from his hometown. It has to be Punjabi fluently Actors, right?

Only Pankaj Kapur and Shahid Kapoor are only ones I could remember and movie was revolving around them. Rest hardly could remember names🤣 as very bad casting .They hardly could speak Punjabi.
